There are a few simple tricks you can use to ensure your home is a happy, healthy one that nurtures and enhances your own happiness.
-
Have a quiet space
If you work from home or even if you don’t, it’s wise to have an area of your home which is dedicated to quiet and relaxed time. A nook or safe space. Whether your relaxation of choice is mediation, reading or simply sitting and looking out of the window, make sure you have a dedicated space for this.

Get the light right
Position your furniture to make the most of the sunshine through the windows. Put your reading chair in the best position to catch the sun when you’re usually in that space. Sun has a calming effect and always makes us feel more energised. Make sure windows are clean to let in maximum light and try painting walls light colours to enhance the effect.

Texture is important
Designer,Carolyn DiCarlo says. “Materials like marble and wood feel good to the touch, However, metals, granite, and excessive use of glass can be too rough, harsh or just annoying.” Play close attention to the use of textures around your home when redecorating.
-
Sound Proof
Irritating sounds can be very stressful so see if you can get your home better sound proofing to block out noisy roads or neighbours. If you can’t do anything that extreme, try a little water feature which lets out relaxing sounds while blocking annoying ones outside.
