As we are all aware, the healthcare industry has come under increasing criticism lately regarding its standards of cleanliness. The Cobham clinic, the private wing at the Luton & Dunstable hospital, is one of our regular clients where we cleaned the reception area and consulting rooms.
The reception are gets a lot of foot traffic going through to the main ward area with patients, visitors and staff passing through. This area also plays host to the drinks area with tea, coffee and a water cooler placed in the far corner of the room increasing the foot traffic even more.
The main are of concern in the reception area was around the drinks area, there was a large watermark in front of the water cooler caused by a small continuous leak from the cooler.
As you can see by the photo, this had left a very ugly looking stain in an area visible to everyone passing through, it had got so bad that the staff had resorted to covering the area with a small mat.
After treating the area with cleaning solutions suitable to the hospital environment we managed to remove the ugly staining to a more than acceptable level – in fact the clinic manager was seriously impressed!
The clinic has 2 consulting rooms, obviously they both get a lot of use which brings plenty of wear and tear along with spots and spills. Some of the stain we see in these rooms do not look to pleasant and patients could wonder what some of them are. To be honest, most of the spots and spills in the consulting rooms were drinks spills or general soiling.
As you can see in the photos below we removed the soiling and spots and the carpets cleaned up really well, although the carpets are showing some signs of wear, particularly where the chairs are usually placed.
